Gaps in the current educational offer of Spatial Planning Programmes

The research, based on an online survey of 90 respondents, aimed at identifying the educational gaps in the M.Sc. in Spatial planning.

Concerning topical issues, such as #gender, social, #environmental, and #climate justice, all the respondents confirmed that very often these dimensions are considered and tackled by courses or studios.

#Social #justice is among the four concepts with more explicit citations by the teachers. This also mirrors the students’ perception.

Environmental and climate issues are often addressed together, while the gender equality is still a neglected topic or barely included into the spatial planning courses.

Among the hard skills that should be increasingly delivered in the planning programmes, #Graphics, #Policy analysis, #Econometrics, and #Urban#Design.

Among the soft skills that should be increasingly delivered in the planning programmes, #Critical #Thinking, #Paper writing, Focus groups, and #Participation.
